A pip-pin is another name for a ball lock pin. These are quick-release fasteners designed for secure installations yet they are easy for operators to use. In aircraft, pip-pins or ball lock pins are used in multiple areas - however, the most visible application of ball lock pins in an aircraft is the arming/disarming mechanism of the aircraft doors.
Our pip-pins (also known as flightpins or ball lock pins) are Aviation Standard approved and manufactured according to NASM norms (formerly MS norms). The products are tested to NAS 1332 standards and are marked with identification numbers. We can provide both metric and imperial sizes and can also help with producing bespoke dimensions - contact our friendly support team for more information.
The Wixroyd aviation pip-pin range is produced according to NASM norms, and tested to NAS standards. Our manufacturing processes have been assessed and certified by EASE (European Aerospace Supplier Evaluation) to EN9100D.
All our aviation pip-pins are individually marked to enable identification of their production lot number. All material details are given on the individual product pages: for example,
